Maharashtra logs 1,005 new Covid cases

Mumbai, Aug 9 (UNI) Maharashtra reported 1,005 fresh Covid-19 cases, according to a health bulletin released on Tuesday
The state’s cumulative case tally has surged to 80,67,737, while the overall toll stood at 1,48,143 with four new deaths reported.
The bulletin said 1,044 patients were cured of the virus and discharged, taking the recovery count to 79,00,626.
The state's recovery rate significantly stand at 98.01 per cent and fatality rate at 1.83 per cent.
Presently, there are 11,938 active Covid-19 patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals in the state, the bulletin added.
In Marathwada region there are 47 positive cases, including 20 in Osmanabad district, Latur (13), 5 cases each in Aurangabad and Parbhani districts and 4 cases in Beed district. No cases of Covid-19 were detected in rest of the three districts, the bulletin said.
