Maha CM instructs authorities to take precautionary measures as heavy rains lash state

Mumbai, July 4 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday convened an emergency meeting to take stock of the situation as heavy rains lashed some parts of the state, specially the Raigad and Ratnagiri districts, where some rivers have reached the danger level, and directed to all the district collectors to take precautionary measures immediately.
Speaking at the meeting, he said the Kundalika river has crossed the danger level and the water levels of Amba, Savitri, Patalganga, Ulhas and Gadhi rivers are slightly below the danger level, and ordered administration to take steps on urgent basis before any disaster takes place, a said in statement issued by CMO now.
Apart from this, the Chief Minister also directed the district collectors and the Water Resources Department to be vigilant and take appropriate precautions as the Jagbudi and Kajli rivers are flowing at the danger level this evening due to heavy rain in areas.
