Aurangabad, Sep 23 (UNI) Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) on Thursday launched a 15-days special ticket check up and awareness drive between September 22 to October 6 across the state .
According to the official press statement issued by the MSRTC stated that, ticket checkup drive has been launched to prevent any passenger from travelling without ticket in the bus.
During the drive special teams has been deputed to check the buses by the respective bus depot on different routes including in rural areas.
It has came to notice that most of the passengers who were traveling without tickets in rural areas are causing huge losses to the corporation.
According to Shekar Chenne, Managing director MSRTC, "Special training has been given to squad employees on how to deal with passengers during the check up drive".
Those found travelling without ticket will be fined on the spot, the statement added.
MSRTC has incurred heavy losses due to non-travel of citizens during the corona period.
Now the MSRTC is looking to generate revenue through freight service, petrol pumps used for STs, etc.
