Maha logs 1,862 new Covid cases, 7 deaths

Mumbai, Aug 5 (UNI) Maharashtra reported 1,862 new infections of Covid-19 as seven more deaths were also reported across the state, according to a health bulletin on Friday.
The state’s cumulative case tally surged to 80,53,965 and the overall toll reached 1,48,124.
A total of 2,099 patients were discharged in 24 hours, taking the recoveries to 78,93,764 so far.
The state's recovery rate stands at 98.01 per cent and fatality rate at 1.83 per cent .
At present there are 12,077 patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals in the state, the bulletin added.
In Marathwada region there are 39 positive cases, including 12 in Jalna district, Nanded (11) and eight each in Beed and Aurangabad districts. No cases of Covid-19 were detected in rest of the four districts, the bulletin said.
