Navi Mumbai police rescue woman fallen into Vashi creek

Thane, Nov 29 (UNI) In an act of daring rescue like that of a typical Bollywood movie, the Navi Mumbai police on Sunday risked their own lives and saved the life of a woman who reportedly fell into the Vashi creek, police said.
It was in afternoon at around 1240 hours the Vashi police got an SOS message from the control room that a woman has jumped into the Vashi creek from the bridge, police said.
Immediately after that, a team of policemen including the Beat marshells, and those from the check post and coastal security guards along with local fisherman life guard, Mahesh Ashok Sutar (37, of Vashi) went into the creek in the latter's fishing boat, jumped into the creek and pulled out the woman who was drowning into the water. They brought her shore in the boat.
