Minister Mushrif files Rs 100 cr defamation case against BJP's Somaiya

Kolhapur, Sep 28 (UNI) Maharashtra Rural Development Minister and senior NCP leader Hasan Mushrif on Tuesday filed a Rs 100 crore defamation suit in the district court here against senior BJP leader and former MP Kirit Somaiya for levelling allegations against the minister and his family members.
Mr Somaiya has levelled serious allegations of financial irregularities in Sir Senapati Santaji Ghorpade sugar factory in Kagal and Appasaheb Gadhinglaj cooperative sugar factory in Gadhinglaj against Mr Mushrif and his family members including his son-in-law, son and wife.
After filing of the case, a representative of Mr Mushrif tried to serve notice to Mr Somaiya somewhere on his tour, but the latter refused to accept it, saying it should be sent either to his office or residence.
