Nagpur, July 7 (UNI) Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court on Tuesday granted parole of 28 days to gangster Arun Gawli who is serving life imprisonment in a murder case.
A division bench of Justices ZA Haq and NB Suryawanshi allowed Gawli’s writ petition which had challenged an order of the Deputy Inspector-General of prisons (East) that rejected his parole leave application.
The DIG (East) had set aside Gawli’s plea, claiming that Gawli was the chief of a criminal gang and his release might create a law and order situation.
