Mumbai, Jul 31 (UNI) The Industries Department of the Maharashtra government on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with auto major Toyota Kirloskar for setting up of a facility worth Rs 20,000 crore for manufacture of electric and hybrid cars at Auric City in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar of Marathwada region.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Rs 20,000 crore Toyota Kirloskar project at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar will not only benefit the Marathwada region but also revolutionise the state and the motor vehicle manufacturing industry in India as a whole.
The project will produce electric and hybrid cars and create 16,000 jobs.
