Aurangabad, Jun 7 (UNI) The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 742 new cases of COVID-19 and 35 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Monday.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Latur district was the worst-affected as it recorded 104 new cases and 15 deaths, followed by Aurangabad which had 139 cases and 11 deaths, Beed had 181 new cases and 5 deaths, Osmanabad 104 cases and single death, Parbhani recorded 41 cases and single death, Nanded 107 cases and no death, Hingoli had 12 cases and no death and Nanded had 107 cases and no death.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 12,557 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 58,31,781.
The state also registered 233 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,00,130.
Meanwhile, 14,433 patients recovered in the state, taking the total number of recoveries to 55,43,267.
The state's recovery rate jumps to 95.05 per cent while the fatality rate stands at 1.72 per cent.
At present, there are 1,85,527 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, added the health authorities.
