Aurangabad, Nov 27 (UNI) The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 28 fresh cases of COVID-19 and five more deaths due to the virus during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Saturday.
The district headquarters report stated that of out eight districts of the region, Beed district was worst-affected with four cases and an equal number of deaths, followed by Aurangabad which had eight cases and a single death, Latur had six cases, Jalna had four cases, Nanded and Parbhani had three cases each.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 852 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 66,32,723.
The state also registered 34 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,40,891.
Meanwhile, 665 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 64,80,061, the recovery rate currently stands at 97.7 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.
At present, there are 8,106 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
