Aurangabad, Nov 16 (UNI) The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 34 fresh COVID-19 cases and 2 deaths are reported due to the virus during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Tuesday.
The district headquarters report stated that of eight districts in the region, Aurangabad district was the worst-affected with 7 cases and single death , followed by Beed had 6 cases and single death, Osmanabad had eight cases, Parbhani recorded 6 cases, Latur recorded 4 cases,Jalna had 2 cases ,Nanded single case and Hingoli district nil,they added.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 686 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 65,24,986.
The state also registered 19 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,40,602.
Meanwhile, 912 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 64,68,791 the recovery rate currently stands at 97.64 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.
At present, there are 11,943 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
