Aurangabad, Oct 7 (UNI) Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 105 new cases of COVID-19 and 6 related deaths during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Thursday.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed reported the highest 22 new cases and four deaths, followed by Aurangabad with 21 cases and a single death, Nanded had 2 cases and one death, Osmanabad had 37 cases, Latur 18 cases, Parbhani 3 cases and Jalna reported 2 cases .
While, in Hingoli district no one COVID case was recorded, they added.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 2,876 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 65,67,791.
The state also registered 90 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,39,362.
Meanwhile, highest 2,763 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 63,91,662 the recovery rate currently stands at 97.34 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.
At present, there are 33,181 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
