Aurangabad, Sep 24 (UNI) The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 109 fresh COVID-19 cases and 4 more related deaths during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Friday.
The district headquarters report stated that of eight districts in the region, Beed district reported the maximum 32 cases and two deaths, followed by Osmanabad with 40 cases and a single death, Aurangabad 14 cases and one death, Latur 18 cases, Jalna and Parbhani recorded two cases each, Nanded district one case and Hingoli nil.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 3,320 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 65,34,557.
The state also registered 61 more COVID related deaths, taking the death toll to 1,38,725.
Meanwhile, highest 4,050 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 63,53,079 the recovery rate currently stands at 97.22 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.
At present, there are 39,191 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
