Aurangabad, Sep 20 (UNI) The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 193 fresh COVID-19 cases, six more deaths were also recorded during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Monday.
Reports from various
district headquarters stated that out of the eight districts of the region, Osmanabad district was worst-affected with 60 cases and two deaths followed by Hingoli which reported two deaths, Aurangabad had 33 cases and a single death, Beed recorded 61 cases and a single death, Latur recorded 28 cases, Jalna recorded six cases, Nanded had three cases and Parbhani recorded two cases.
Hingoli district did not record any new case.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 3,413 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state of Maharashtra, taking the total number of infections to 65,21,915.
The state also registered 49 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,38,518.
Meanwhile, 8,326 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 63,38,887, the recovery rate currently stands at 97.16per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.
At present, there are 42,955 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
