Aurangabad, Jan 10 (UNI) The eight districts of Maharashtra's Marathwada region reported 203 fresh cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, the health authorities informed on Sunday.
The region also recorded three deaths due to the coronavirus during the same period.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad district recorded 40 cases and two deaths, followed by Nanded with 44 new cases and a single death, Beed registered 30 cases, Osmanabad district registered 30 cases, Latur registered 28 new cases, Jalna 20 cases and Parbhani 9 and Hingoli registered two cases each.
As per the official data, 3,581 more corona cases and 57 deaths were reported from across the state during the past 24 hours, taking the state's cumulative tally to 19,65,056.
Meanwhile, 2,420 patients were cured and discharged from hospitals during the same period across the state, taking the total number of recoveries so far in Maharashtra to 18,61,400.
With this, the state's recovery rate has now risen to 94.7 per cent and the death rate stands at 2.55 per cent.
According to the health officials so far 50,027 have succumbed to the disease in the state while 52,960 patients are currently undergoing treatment across in the state.
