Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Jul 12 (UNI) As many as 64 new cases of novel coronavirus were identified on Sunday here taking the tally of number of infected to 8280.
According to the district administration sources, the fresh cases include 31 males and 33 females.
They said that 53 new cases were detected from Aurangabad Municipal Corporation and 11 were reported from rural areas of the district.
They further said that at least 873 swab samples were sent for investigation from the district.
Out of 8280 cases, 4834 patients have been cured and were discharged up to Saturday night while 350 fatalities were reported till date.
At present, 3096 were undergoing treatment at different hospitals and covid centres.
The sources stated that with the introduction of antigen corona testes at different entry and check posts the number of coronavirus cases may decrease.
Meanwhile, on the third day of Janta curfew in city and around the city people remain in their houses
while the health workers and police department were seen across the city to detect the suspected cases and implement the curfew orders properly.
Aurangabad Divisional Commissioner Sunil Kendrekar, District Collector Uday Chaudhari, Civic body administrative officer Astik Kumar Pandey and City police commissioner Chiranjeev Prasad visited various areas in the city to take stock of situation.
