Covid-19: CPIE India (Goa Unit) & GDF launch diabetes awareness month in Mumbai & Goa

Panaji, Nov 23 (UNI) Several socio-medical forums as well as senior citizens groups in Goa and Mumbai including the Centre for Promoting Indian Economy (CPIE India) - Goa chapter, the Global Diabetes Forum and the Indradhanush Foundation have joined hands to organise a massive Diabetes and Covid-19 Awareness Exercise in Mumbai and Goa.
Inaugurating the exercise Dr Pranav Kabra said, ''Since diabetes is one of the major impediments to cure of Covid-19 infected patients and patients with severe diabetes are at high risk after contracting Covid-19, control of diabetes or one's blood sugar level is most imperative.
''This is the second consecutive year that we are doing this "National Diabetes Awareness Month", Kabra said, inviting all medical practitioners from various cities to support the cause. In the light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the National Diabetes Awareness Month has assumed further significance,'' he explained.
