Ahmedabad, June 19 (UNI) In the presence of Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev, a free yoga camp was organized in Ahmedabad on Sunday under the joint aegis of Gujarat State Yoga Board and Patanjali Yog Samiti, Gujarat.
On the occasion, Acharya Devvrat, while extending greetings for the International Yoga Day, said that yoga Asans augment health. He said that Indian culture is a culture of spirituality. Maharishi Patanjali presented Yoga Vidya to the world through the Yoga Sutras.
The Governor said that the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, had proposed to celebrate International Yoga Day in the United Nations. This resolution was passed unanimously with the support of 177 countries of the world. In this way the whole world has been inspired to celebrate June 21 as International Yoga Day.
