5-member team from Reliance-run Vantara visits Jain Math in Nandani to discuss relocation of 36-year-old elephant

Kolhapur, Aug 1 (UNI) Taking note of people's emotions regarding translocation of a 36-year-old elephant, Madhuri alias Mahadevi, from the Jain Math at Nandani in Kolhapur district to the Reliance-owned Vantara project in Gujarat's Jamnagar, a five-member team from Vantara today visited the Nandani Jain Math to discuss the issue and find a way out.
This comes as the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana national president and former MP Raju Shetty announced that a 45-km long 'Atmaclesh' Muk padyatra would be taken out from Nandani to Kolhapur on August 3 to demand the return of Mahadevi elephant.
A five member team of the Radhe Krishna Temple Elephant Welfare Trust Jamnagar in Gujarat (Vantara project), led by its CEO Vihan Karani visited the Jain Math in Nandani to discuss with the head, Mathadhipati Jinsen Bhattarak Pattacharya Mahaswami, to find a positive way forward on the issue.
