Strict enforcement of code of conduct, Liquor worth Rs 24 lakhs seized: Dist Administration

Jalgaon, Apr 12 (UNI) The administration in Raver and Jalgaon Lok Sabha constituencies in Jalgaon district is implementing a model code of conduct and is investigating the seizure of weapons, cash, alcohol, drugs, and precious metals.
The district currently has 1323 licensed arms, with 985 deposited in police stations since the order to deposit arms was issued following the Lok Sabha elections, an official statement said on Friday.
115 arms holders have been exempted, four weapons have been recovered, two licenses have been cancelled, and 27 weapons are yet to be collected, while 4700 cases have been registered under the preventive section of CrPC.
