Three Maharashtra audit staff held for Rs 16,500 bribe

Ratnagiri, Sep 12 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested an assistant director, an assistant account officer, and a contract-based peon from the local Audit Office here for accepting a bribe of Rs 16,500.
The arrested persons have been identified as Sharad Jadhav (assistant director), Sidharth Jadhav (assistant account officer), and Satej Ghavali (peon on contract).
According to ACB officials, the bribe was demanded for a favourable audit report of the Dapoli Panchayat Samiti. The audit report, prepared by the Ratnagiri audit office for the years 2020-2022, had 21 points, and the complainant, a representative of the Samiti, wanted 15 of them to be excluded.
