Mumbai police files case against unknown people for allegedly posting distorted posts against NCP chief

Mumbai, Apr 1 (UNI) The Mumbai police on Thursday registered a case against unknown people for allegedly posting distorted and inferior posts on social media regarding the illness of NCP chief Sharad Pawar.
An offence under sections 153A, 505(2), 500, 504, 469, 499, 507, 35 of Indian Penal Code and section 66(D) of IT Act has recently been registered by the Mumbai Police's Cyber ​​Crime Cell, following the demand by Nationalist Youth Congress (NYC) state president Mehboob Sheikh who sought action against those who had allegedly posted distorted and inferior posts on social media against Mr Pawar.
In his statement, Mr Sheikh stated that Mr Pawar has undergone surgery and is undergoing treatment at a city hospital. Even as people from all walks of life were expressing concern about his health condition, a section of the society was posting very low quality posts on social media, including hoping for his death.
