COVID-19: Marathwada  registers 6179 more cases

Aurangabad, Apr 8 (UNI) Eight districts of Maharashtra's Marathwada region registered 6,179 cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Thursday.
The region also saw 91 fatalities due to the virus during the same duration of time.
The region has been adversely affected due to the pandemic since the last over one and half months.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad was worst affected, recording 1,407 cases and 31 deaths, followed by Nanded with 1255 new cases and 26 deaths, Parbhani registered 684 new cases and 12 deaths, Beed had 587 cases and 10 deaths, Jalna had 614 cases and six deaths, Osmanabad had 468 cases and five deaths , Hingoli had 195 cases and a single death while Latur had 969 cases and no deaths.

Meanwhile, the past 24 hours saw 59,907 fresh cases of COVID-19 being reported from across the state, this is the highest single day spike seen by the state till not. With the addition of these new cases the total number of infections in the state have climbed to 31,73,261.
The state also registered 322 more deaths, taking the overall death toll to 56,652.
Meanwhile, a total of 30,296 patients recovered and were discharged during the past 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 26,13,627 across the state.
The state's recovery rate currently stands at 82.98 per cent and the fatality rate is 1.83 per cent.
At present there are 5,01,561 active patients across the state undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, added the health officials.
It may be noted that in view of rising number of cases, the state government has imposed strict restrictions and week end curfew across the state under the initiative of ' break the chain '.

Pune, April 25 (UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal(5.1°C or more) at many places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; at isolated places over Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal and Assam and Meghalaya; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Jharkhand; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe; at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Telangana. These were below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places over Vidarbha and east Madhya Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 43.7°C was reported at Anantapur
(Rayalaseema) over the country.
