Sakal Maratha Samaj to prevent milk supply to Pune and Mumbai Thursday morning

Kolhapur, Sep 16 (UNI) With taking aggressive stance against stay order for Maratha community reservation in the Supreme Court, Sakala Maratha Samaj (SMS), a leading Maratha Sanghatana, has decided to prevent tankers from transporting milk to Pune and Mumbai on Thursday morning to protest against what they called not representing Maratha reservation issue in the court.
Talking to UNI Wednesday evening, SMS leader Deelip Patil said that the state government totally failed in properly arguing Maratha reservation issue in the court and neglected the issue. To express their protest against the state government, SMS has decided to stop all transportation of milk to Pune and Mumbai at in front of Gokul Dudh's main office at Gokul-Shirgaon in Karveer tehsil of this district tomorrow morning (at 0900 hours).
Mr Patil said that SMS also considering to give a call of 'Maharashtra Bandh' on reservation issue, however a date would announce later.

SW Monsoon likely to withdraw from Jharkhand in next 48 hours

Pune, Oct 24 (UNI) Conditions are becoming favourable for further withdrawal of South-west Monsoon from remaining parts of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and entire North Arabian Sea as well from some stretches of Odisha, north Maharashtra and Central Arabian Sea during next 48 hours and from the entire country during subsequent two days, forecast the India Meteorological Department here today.

Palghar lynching: Thirty-eight more persons sent to judicial custody

Palghar, Oct 24 (UNI) A court at Dahanu on Saturday sent 38 more persons into judicial custody who have been arrested by the State CID, for their alleged role in the case of lynching of two sadhus at Gadchinchale village of the district in April this year
A total 128 accused, including two juveniles, are in judicial custody and remand home.

Ex Maha minister, Vandhipati Vinayakdada Patil passes away

Nashik, Oct 24 (UNI) Senior Congress leader, former minister and Vanadhipati Vinayakdada Patil passed away late last night Friday. He was 77. He has been undergoing treatment for the last few days due to health ailments. He was close to senior leader Sharad Pawar. His demise marked the loss of a well-known politician in the state. He was survived by daughters.
