Mah: Tribal community demands disbursal of Khavti grant

Thane/Palghar, Nov 18 (UNI) Hundreds of people from tribal community, including women, on Wednesday held protests across several districts of Maharashtra over the state government’s apparent failure to disburse Khavti grant.
Marching under the banner of pro-tribal outfit Shramajivi Sanghatana, the protestors gathered at the tehsil offices in the districts of Thane, Palghar, Raigadh and Nashik and conveyed their grievances to the tehsildars.
They said that the government didn’t disburse the Khavti grant on time, thereby dampening their spirit as the festive season is here.
