Suspended police official failed to inform IT about seizure of Rs 6 cr: Thane Police chief

Thane, May 12 (UNI) The suspension order of 10 police personnel, including three police officials, of the Mumbra police station in the racket involving Rs six crore, has revealed that the police department had failed to inform the Income Tax department about the seizure of cash.
The order, issued by the Thane Police commissioner Jai Jeet Singh on Wednesday, stated that police inspector Gitaram Shewale had made a note in the station diary that he, along with the other policemen, was going for a raid in Mumbra town.
After the raid, the official noted in the station diary that one of the seized box contained toys, however the close circuit TV camera footage shows that the cash currency was taken out of the box.
