Kolhapur slips into lull as lockdown begins, records 22 new COVID-19 cases

Kolhapur, Jul 20 (UNI) The first day of lockdown here on Monday received massive support of the citizens as people stayed indoors as heavy police deployment is keeping a hawk's eye at usually busy spots.
Barring the milk shops and pharmacies, all other business activities remained suspended as markets and shops have preppped up for a seven-day lull as the lockdown will end on July 26.
The bustling localities across this city were devoid of human presence while no vehicular movement was witnessed on the streets. Around 2,000 policemen are deployed across Kolhapur while manning points have been set up at seven arterial roads.
