Novak Djokovic to play at Australian Open

Novak Djokovic to play at Australian Open

Melbourne, Jan 4 (UNI) Novak Djokovic is all set to participate at the upcoming Australian Open after securing an "exemption permission".
The 34-year-old Serbian has never revealed whether he is vaccinated against Covid-19, a prerequisite to compete in Melbourne unless an exemption is granted.
"I’ve spent fantastic quality time with loved ones over break & today I’m heading Down Under with an exemption permission. Let’s go 2022!" tweeted Djokovic along with his own picture at an airport.
The world no.1 withdrew from Serbia team participating at the ATP Cup in Sydney without any explanation, which further added to speculation that Djokovic would not compete in the season’s first grand slam.
Australian Open is scheduled to take place at Melbourne Park from January 17 to 30.
