Solan, Oct 20 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and Social Justice and Empowerment Minister D R Shandil filed their nominations papers from Arki and Solan assembly segments of the district, on Friday. Solan District Election Officer Rakesh Kanwar said that a total of three nominations were filed in all five constituencies of Solan district. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh alongwith thousands of his supporters arrived at Arki town and marched towards the office of Returning Officer. He filed his nomination papers from Arki constituency as Congress candidate. Notably, Virbhadra Singh is currently representing Shimla (Rural) constituency, which he won by about 20,000 votes in 2012 elections. Dr Col Dhani Ram Shandil filed nomination from Solan (SC) and Vinod Sultanpuri from Kasauli (SC) constituencies as Congress candidates on Friday. Dr Shandil is the sitting MLA from Solan constituency while Vinod Sultanpuri, son of six time MP from Shimla constituency, lost 2012 Vidhan Sabha eletion from Kasauli by a slender margin. No nomination was filed from Nalagarh and Doon constituencies on Friday. UNI XC DB JW SHK 2051
