Six drowned in Saryu river in UP

Bahriach, Oct 7(UNI) Six people, including a child, drowned in a boat mishap on the Saryu river under Kotwali dehat police station area in the district here on Saturday. Police sources here the deceased were the native of Ramgaon who were returning after a fair last night across the river. The accident occurred when the boat, carrying nine people, overturned near Pipraghat at around 0530 hrs. However, the boatman, along with two others, managed to swim ashore. The deceased were identified as Shakil(10), Tirathram(22), Vijay(23), Rajesh(22) and Magan (16). All the bodies have been recovered. UNI MB SB 1102
