Rajnath asks people to remain patient for 50 days for normalisation of situation after demonetisation

Lucknow, Dec 2 (UNI) Asking people to show patience for 50 days on demonetisation, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said the decision of demonetisation was taken in the national interest to check black money and terrorism. “This decision will stop the monetary supply to the terrorist and Maoist outfits. As demonetisation is a pro-poor decision, it would surely help in bridging the wide gap between rich and poor, which was broadened due to black money,” said Home Minister while talking to reporters after a function of railway where he laid foundation stone for Gomtinagar Terminal and several other projects here. He said after demonetisation the Prime Minister Narendra Modi told people about some inconvenience for the initial 50 days following it things will ease out. Those standing in queues are ready to bear some difficulties in the national interest. They know that in some days cash flow will normalize and mission of behind the decision would succeed. Being a Member of Parliament (MP) from Lucknow constituency Rajnath Singh was not given invitation for attending the flag-off ceremony of the trial run of Lucknow Metro on Thursday. But Home Minister said when the development is being done by anyone or anywhere, it should not be politicized. The development should not be turned into dispute. “For Lucknow Metro central government has contributed too and with the proper coordination of both central and state government the Lucknow metro has come up in the city. This issue should be closed now and development should be praised,” he added. Speaking about Gomtingar Terminal, he said on Charbagh railway station there was load of 250 trains but as soon Gomtinagar terminal will be ready, lesser crowd of passenger would be witnessed at Charbagh. This terminal would be developed as World Class Station. Along with it, the proposed work of outer ring road in Lucknow would start from December. Union Home Minister also sought approval from the Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to develop Alamnagar Railway Station as ‘Satellite Station’ so that those willing to board or de-board train from Alamnagar could do so. Addressing on the occasion, Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhu said the Prime Minister has asked to keep the improvements of railways on priority. Earlier in the budget, the investment in railways was Rs 30000-40000 crores only and the mentality was ‘Announcement is a project’ while completing those was never on priority. “We have increased the provision for Indian railway to Rs 1.31 Lakh crore till last budget still many other development works like locomotive workshops, buying components from Indian companies are being done apart from the budget,” he added. The Gomtinagar terminal would be developed as world class station with a cost of Rs 150-200 crores. Along with it, railway Ministry plans to develop 400 stations on the same pattern. The railways made better system from complaint and sanitation as well as clean food for the passengers in last couple of years. Giving details of projects and initiatives taken up in the state by Indian Railways, Suresh Prabhu said in last two years the rail development projects worth Rs 43,453 crore was initiated and more projects are in the pipeline. Nearly 41 new trains were introduced. “The major improvement and development of Indian Railways was done in the state and as the people of state are present everywhere, investment in railway in any city would indirectly benefit Uttar Pradesh. What we want from the people is their support and trust in the central government for continuing the development,” he added. On the occasion, Foundation stone for Gomtinagar terminal, second entry at Daliganj, Lucknow City and Aishbagh railway station, yard remodeling of Lucknow Railway Station and 1 Megawatt Solar Power panel for Allahabad Division Office and many escalators and elevators was laid down. BJP MP from Dumariyaganj Jagdambika Pal, MLAs Ashutosh Tandon and Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Mayor Dr Dinesh Sharma and officials of North Eastern, Northern and North Central railways were present.
