Elephant herd threatens life and property in Nagaland

Kohima, Nov 16 (UNI) A herd of wild elephants, reportedly foraging for food in the cultivable lands and forest areas of New Riphyim village under Wokha district, has become life threatening and a cause of frustration for the entire community,

In a release the Chairman of the New Riphyim village Nyimtsemo Odyuo has informed that only recently a herd of wild elephants, numbering around 50, have been sighted venturing inside the paddy fields of the village, posing grave danger to the villagers.
