K'taka: Golden throne on display in Mysuru Palace

Mysuru, Sep 24(UNI) The gem-studded Golden Throne has been kept on public display inside the Mysore Palace for tourists and general public.
Deputy Director, Mysore Palace Board T S Subramanya said on Thursday that the Throne is on display after it was assembled last week and kept ready for the 'Khaas Durbar' by the Mysore Royal family during Navarathri festival which begins on October 17. This throne is added to the list of rare artefacts on display inside the Palace premises.

Bhopal, Sep 24 (UNI) Reiterating that safeguarding peasants’ interests is the Madhya Pradesh dispensation’s pre-eminent priority, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday fired a broadside at political opponents by pointing out that the predecessor government failed to deposit the state’s share of crop insurance and the fallout was that “our tiller brethren” remained deprived of benefits.
“The previous regime ‘rounded up’ credit waiver at Rs 6,000 crore although it had promised to set aside Rs 50,000 cr. An amount approximately one-and-a-half-times higher has already been provided by my dispensation within a period of only six months. Besides, it has been decided to provide Rs 10,000 each to agriculturists. In addition to the annual provision of Rs 6,000 under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, the state government will disburse two instalments of Rs 2,000 each,” the veteran leader was officially quoted as saying.
