No need of anticipatory bail to Kavya : HC

No need of anticipatory bail to Kavya : HC

Kochi, Sep 25 (UNI) Kerala High Court has ruled that there was no need for an anticipatory bail to Kavya Madhavan, wife of Dileep, who is in remand in connection with the alleged conspiracy against Malayalam actress abduction and assault case, as the prosecution had given an undertaking that she will not be arrested. Kavya approached the High Court for anticipatory bail, stating that the investigating officers were threatening to arrest her. She also said in the application that the police was calling her every day with threats of arrest and they were pressurizing her to accept illegal things. She also said that the police was trying to create fictitious character called ‘madam’ based on the statements by Pulsar Suni, the key accused in the case, and there was an attempt to establish that she was the ‘’madam’’. However, the police had already informed the court that Kavya had not been made an accused in the case and there was no move to arrest her and on the basis of the information, the High Court ruled that there was no need for an anticipatory bail tp Kavya in connection with the case. The court, however, said that it will consider the anticipatory bail petition filed by Nadirsha, film director and a close friend of Dileep, on October four. UNI CGV CS1629
