Patna, Apr 22 (UNI) Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday asserted that the
country was always ready to give a befitting reply to Pakistani incursions at the Line of
Control accusing Pakistan of trying to break up the country.
Addressing ‘Babu Veer Kuer Singh Vijayotsava’ ceremony organised by Bihar unit of
BJP, Mr Singh said that Pakistan was always trying to create disturbances at the LoC
and even attempting to break up the country but Indian soldiers were giving befitting
reply to its nefarious designs.
He said earlier Army was asked to exercise restraint but now since provocations were
being made from across the border, Army was going full throttle to teach a good lesson
to a hostile neighbour.
Claiming that the menace of naxalism would be rooted out from the country, union
minister Mr Singh said that Maoist leaders were ‘sucking blood of poor people’ but at
the same time were sending their children to foreign countries for studies.
He said Maoists were trying to create disturbance in the execution of development
schemes, reiterating the Centre`s commitment to eliminate the menace of naxal
violence completely.
Mr Singh said that jawans of Army and other security agencies would be laced with
indigenous weapons in the next three years and attempts were being made in this
regard.
He said all concerted efforts were being made to make India a powerful and
self-dependent country as it would be real tributes to Veer Kuer Singh.
The union home minister said Veer Kuer Singh had a strong feeling for self
respect and he never compromised with it.
Union Minister Mr Singh said there were certain forces, which wanted to rip apart the social
fabric in the country and attempts were being made to divide society in the name of caste
and religion.
He said the country would not allow anybody to attack unity and integrity of the country.
Mr Singh said a country could not survive for a long time if it was not self-dependent.
He without taking name of any political party said that even allegations were being made
that the Centre was not working in the interest of scheduled castes and tribes and backwards.
The Union Minister said several issues could be raised in politics but not such type of a
baseless allegation.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi after taking oath had immediately made it clear that
his government would accord priority to welfare of poor.
The Union Minister said the entire body was affected if any part of it suffered paralytic stroke
and similarly dream of strong India could be realised only when all sections of the society were developed.
He said Prime Minister had a strong desire to build a strong India and everybody should
make efforts in this regard.
Mr Singh said that conspiracy to divide the country on religious lines should immediately
stop.
He said no power in the world could weaken the country and India would not bow before
anybody.
Mr Singh said law had been enacted for confiscation of properties of offenders fleeing from
the country.
He said the country was on high growth trajectory as the GDP growth rate had also
increased.
