Srinagar, May 16 (UNI) Classes in the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) resumed on Wednesday after remaining suspended for a day as a precautionary measure in view of day-long protests by students on Monday.
All examinations will be conducted as per schedule on Wednesday, an official of the university said. However, the dates of examination which were postponed yesterday will be announced later, he added.
Students boycotted their classes and held massive protests within the campus at Awantipora in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Monday alleging that security forces and state police personnel stopped university buses and later arrested several students. However, the protesting students left for their homes when their classmates, arrested in the morning, were released on Monday.
Apprehending more trouble, the university authorities had suspended classes and postponed examinations on Tuesday.
