Lucknow, July 11 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday finally charge-sheeted BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar for the alleged rape of a minor girl, hailing from Unnao.
The rape took place at the MLA's residence on June 4 last year, but the matter only came to light, when the survivor made a self-immolation bid outside Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's residence here. The charge sheet was submitted just a day before the completion of 90-days of arrest of the MLA.
MLA's brother Atul Sengar was also charge-sheeted in the survivor's father's murder case on last Saturday. The Central investigating agency did not name the MLA in the previous charge sheet, but claimed before the court that Kuldeep's role in the murder case was still under investigation.
Kuldeep was also accused of planting a revolver during the arrest of the survivor's father.

Official sources that in the charge sheet submitted in the designated CBI court here on Wednesday, Kuldeep Sengar and his associate Sashi Singh have been charged with criminal conspiracy and other offences under IPC and Sections 3 and 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), which relates to rape of minors.
The development came three months after the agency was handed over the probe in the alleged rape of the minor, who was lured at the residence of the politician, with the promise of a job.
The agency has found that the minor was raped at the residence of the MLA on June 4, 2017 at 2000 hrs, where she was taken by Sashi Singh, officials claimed.
The agency alleged that the girl was again gangraped by a different set of accused between June 11 and June 20, 2017, which is also being probed by the CBI, they said.
The officials said local police had not registered an FIR related to the alleged rape by the MLA, which took place on June 4. They had only registered an FIR related to the gangrape, they said. The role of doctors, police and officials of the district administration was still under probe, CBI mentioned in its charge sheet.
Sengar, a four-time MLA, who represents Bangermau in UP Legislative Assembly, was arrested on April 13. A purported video of the girl's father before his death had gone viral, in which he had alleged that he was mercilessly beaten up, including with rifle butts, by the MLA's brother and others, in the presence of police.
The case caused a huge embarrassment to the BJP government in the state, which recommended a CBI probe in April this year.
Earlier on last Saturday, CBI charge-sheeted Atul and his four close aides in connection with the murder of the survivor's father.
Anil Kumar, the investigating officer in the survivor's father's murder case, charge-sheeted Atul, along with four other accused, identified as Vinay Mishra aka Vineet, Virendra Singh aka Babuwa and Shashi Pratap Singh aka Suman Singh and Sonu.
However, he has not mentioned the name of one more accused Shailu, who seems to be given clean chit in the case. All the above have been found guilty of brutally assaulting the survivor's father, leading to his death later in the hospital.
