Lucknow, Nov 8 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that providing better health facility to the people is the priority of the government and it is working to ensure availability of doctors and medicines in rural and urban areas across the state.
“The Government is committed to extend the best possible facilities in the hospitals, CHCs and PHCs. Medicines would be made available in the hospitals so that patients could get them there that too free of cost,“ CM said during a review meeting of Health and Family welfare here on Wednesday.
He said in view of scarcity of doctors Ayush doctors should be posted in PHCs so that poor can get quality treatment there. “Construction of all proposed hospitals should be completed by March 2018 and these should be made operational,” he said.
He also enquired by availability of dialysis in the hospital and said wherever possible it should be made operational in shifts. Besides, directives were issued to open over 1000 Jan Aushadhi Kendra selling generic medicines.
In another review meeting Yogi said government’s new aviation policy will improve investment in the state. The air connectivity between Lucknow and divisional headquarters will improve business. UP can gain further if smaller cities are linked with Lucknow. Central Government has been approached with a proposal and we are waiting for a positive response from there.
He reviewed the implementation of new aviation policy of Uttar Pradesh which was launched in September this year. Chief Minister also issued directives to expedite construction of International airport in Jewar.
The Yamuna Expressway Authority, which is a nodal agency, has been asked to acquire land for the proposed project. Under the regional connectivity scheme UP has got approval to start air service in five sectors. “We have plans to construct 10 air strips. Of this 8 would be under control of state government while two – in Jhansi and Saharanpur – it would be controlled by Army,” Yogi said.
In another review meeting he asked officers to identify the most neglected villages of the state and provide basic amenities there. To start with 1500 such villages have been identified where basic facilities will be made available on the priority basis.
The villages would have houses, pucca roads, potable water, PHC and school. All these villages will be linked with 23 schemes and once we are able to do that the villagers there would get all basic facilities, Chief Minister said.
