Karun Nair stars as Karnataka, other teams stage key recoveries

New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) Karun Nair continued his rich vein of form, scoring an unbeaten 142 to steer Karnataka to 319/3 at stumps on Day 1 of their Ranji Trophy clash against Kerala.
After losing both openers early for 13/2, Nair built substantial partnerships with Krishnan Shrijith (65) and Ravichandran Smaran (88*), putting Karnataka in a commanding position.
In other matches, Pradosh Ranjan Paul’s 113 and Baba Indrajith’s 94* helped Tamil Nadu recover from 18/2 and 73/3 to finish strongly against Vidarbha. Punjab captain Uday Saharan’s unbeaten 100, along with Salil Arora, guided his team from 92/5 to 215/5 against Goa.
