Webinar on future of sports in Assam organised

Guwahati, Aug 29 (UNI) The Sports Authority of Assam today conducted a webinar on the occasion of National Sports Day with a discussion on the topic ‘Development of Sports in Assam - Way Forward’.
Speakers on the occasion included Onkar Kedia, Director General, Sports Authority of Assam, Lakhya Konwar, Member State Level Advisory Committee & General Secretary, Assam Olympic Association, Arunja awardee Bhogeswar Baruah, Dharma Kanta Mili, Director, Sports & Youth Welfare, Subhash Basumatary, Regional Director, Sports Authority of India, and Arjuna awardees Hima Das, Monalisa Barua Mehta, and Jayanta Talukdar, and swimmer Shivangi Sarma.
In a message during the webinar, Chief Minister and president of Sports Authority of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal said his Government has taken steps to make Guwahati the sports capital of the country.
