Flood-hit Assam needs our attention & help: Sunil Chhetri

Guwahati, Jul 17 (UNI) Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri on Friday called for immediate attention and assistance for Assam as it battles floods amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The total number of people killed in flood-related incidents in Assam this year has gone up to 97. While 71 people died due to the deluge, 26 were killed in landslides.
"Along with the prayers, Assam needs as much attention and help as possible to recover from the floods it is under," said Chhetri in a tweet, seeking to draw the country’s attention to the disaster.
