Indian athletes fail to win medal in men's 20km race walk

Paris, Aug 1 (UNI) Indian athletes put up a strong effort but fell short of securing a medal in the men’s 20km race walk at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Thursday.
Vikash Singh, the fastest among the three Indian competitors, clocked a time of 1:22:36, finishing in 30th place. The 28-year-old had previously finished fifth in the event at the Asian Games last year but couldn't replicate that success on the Olympic stage.
Paramjeet Singh Bisht, in his Olympic debut, crossed the finish line in 1:23:48, earning him the 37th spot. Unfortunately, national record holder Akshdeep Singh had to bow out of the race after just 6 kilometers and did not finish.
