Indian athletes stand tall amidst high drama on Day 9 of Paris Olympics

Paris, Aug 4 (UNI) Day 9 at the Paris 2024 Olympics was a testament to the indomitable spirit of Indian athletes, as their performances turned the Games into a dramatic spectacle of courage and resilience.
In a hockey quarterfinal clash that could have been scripted by Hollywood, the Indian men’s team faced off against Great Britain in a battle that seemed destined for the ages. With the match hanging by a thread, the stakes soared when Amit Rohidas was shown a red card, leaving India in a precarious position.
Yet, it was PR Sreejesh who emerged as the hero of the day. Under the glaring spotlight, Sreejesh's breathtaking saves during the shoot-out not only kept India’s gold medal aspirations alive but also showcased the heart of a champion. His performance was a masterclass in goalkeeping, and it ensured India’s place in the semi-finals.
