BWF Rankings: Prannoy returns to Top-15 after 4 years

New Delhi, Sep 27 (UNI) On the back of a series of impressive performances star Indian shuttler HS Prannoy on Tuesday returned to the Top-15 in the latest BWF World Rankings after a gap of four years.
Prannoy, who reached back-to-back quarterfinals at the World Championships and Japan Open Super 750, moved up a spot to be placed 15 in the men's singles rankings.
Former World no 1 Srikanth Kidambi rose to 11th spot. Young Lakshya Sen, however, continued to be the top-ranked Indian at the ninth position.
In the women's singles chart, two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu stuck static on the sixth post. She had skipped the World Championships and Japan Open due to an injury she suatained during the Commonwealth Games final.
London Olympics bronze medallist Saina Nehwal also moved one spot and sits on 31st place.
The first-ever Commonwealth Games champion men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty continued to be at the eighth position. The duo also became the first Indian men's doubles pair from the country to win a medal at the World Championships when they claimed a bronze in Tokyo this year.
World Championship quarterfinalists men's duo of MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila jumped three spots to 23rd place.
A pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy climbed a couple spots to be placed 23rd in the women's doubles rankings.
Mixed doubles pair of Ishaan Bahtnagar and Tanisha Crasto bettered their highest rank as they climbed two spots to 30th position.
