Special team in Pettimudy for loss estimation, rehabilitation

Idukki, Aug 22 (UNI) A team of revenue officials, led by Munnar special tahsildar Binu Joseph, was deployed at Pettimudy to estimate the losses incurred during the landslide that hit the settlement on August six and to ensure the rehabilitation of those who have survived the disaster.
The 13-member team has started collecting data on the total loss incurred in the landslide, people who lost their lives and details of the deceased persons successors to ensure effective distribution of financial aid promised by the state government to victims, official sources said on Saturday.
In the initial phase, the team will collect official documents on the disaster from the departments concerned. Following this, the details of people who have lost their lives, injured and missing will be collected, the sources said.

Addressing the media on Friday, Hiremath expressed concern over what he perceives as the rapid spread of "love jihad" and urged mothers to accompany their college-going daughters for their safety.
