IMD issues orange alert in 3 districts of K'taka

Bengaluru, Jul 31 (UNI) Orange alert has been sounded in Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts of Karnataka by the Meteorological Department as the region was experiencing heavy downpour and the rains were expected to continue till August 4.
According to sources, Monsoon has been advancing and there was all possibility of heavy rain in Bagalkot, Bidar, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu and Shivamogga districts in the next 24 hours. Yellow alerts have been sounded in these districts also.
However, Fishermen Association has decided not to venture into the sea for fishing till September 1 because of the threat of Coronavirus though the phase 2 lockdown would end on July 31.
