Cyclone threat: 70 fishermen families evacuated from Hope island in AP

Kakinada, Oct 12(UNI) In view of the impending cyclone threat and the heavy down pour for the past two days ,the district Collector Muralidhara Reddy has issued orders for the evacuation of people from the Hope Island.
The authorities have immediately evacuated and shifted as many as 70 fishermen families from the Hope island on Monday and sheltered them safely in the temporary cyclone shelter arranged at the High school in Pagadalapet.
Revenue divisional officer Chnni Krishna said that these fishermen families were shifted by boats belonging to the port enlisting the support of fisheries department and marine police .
