Rs 1,000 per month scheme is historic, women can walk with pride : Stalin

Chennai, Sep 15 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin said the 'historic' Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam (KMUT) scheme under which Rs 1,000 would be given per month to 1.06 crore eligible women in the state, would usher in a major change in Tamil society and enable the women walk with pride.

Stalin writes to CMs on non-BJP ruled states to adopt Resolution against UGC drafts

Chennai, Jan 20 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Monday wrote to
Chief Ministers of nine non-BJP ruled states urging them to adopt resolutions in
their State Assembly on the lines of the one passed in the TN Assembly opposing
the recent guidelines issued by the UGC which were a clear infringement on the
rights of State Governments and will have far-reaching consequences on the
autonomy of our Universities.

urged Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan to withdraw the
Draft UGC Regulations, 2024 and 2025, including the regulations
relating to appointment of Vice-Chancellors (VCs) immediately as
many provisions in it would pose serious challenges to the academic
integrity, autonomy and inclusive development of State universities.
