Reception given by Indian origin people in Japan heartwarming : Stalin

Chennai, May 28 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin, who
is on an official visit to Japan to attract investors into the State,
today said the reception given by the people of Indian origin in
Japan at the century-old TheIndianClub was heartwarming.
In a tweet after attending a cultural programme, he said "the love
they showered upon me personified the diversity and brotherhood
of India."
"The performance by the Bharatanatyam artists there in particular
was simply outstanding and overwhelming", he added.
"I have appealed to them to spread awareness on the prospects in
Tamil Nadu - which is a pioneer state in implementing many game-
changing schemes in India and let the investors in Japan know of
the bright investment opportunities and advantages in Tamil Nadu",
Mr Stalin said.
In his address at the cultural meet organised in Osaka by the Indian
Embassy in which members of the Indian diaspora, including many
Tamils took part last night, Mr Stalin appealed to the Indian diaspora
in Japan to explain to investors in the country the business-friendly
atmosphere and opportunities available in Tamil Nadu and bring them
to the State.
Pointing out that several Japanese firms like Nissan, Toshiba and
Yamaha have set up manufacturing plants in Tamil Nadu, the Chief
Minister said the Indian government wanted a relationship that was
beyond business ties with Japan and invited various industries and
investors to invest in Tamil Nadu.
He also invited them to participate in the Global Investors Meet to
be held in January 2024 in Chennai to achieve the goal making
Tamil Nadu the one trillion dollar economy by 2030.
Stressing the need for a new chapter in India-Japan relationship,
he said the cultural ties between the countries should continue.
Mr.Stalin also spoke about various pioneering welfare schemes
launched by his Government in Tamil Nadu including the “Naan
Mudhalvan” scheme to develop skills of youngsters and the free
bus travel for women.
Many of these schemes, he said, were being followed by other
States in India, he added.
Mr. Stalin also said that he had come as the Chief Minister of a
State with rich civilisational heritage, adding pride to India.
During the meet, dancers from Japan performed Bharatanatyam
and the Chief Minister felicitated them.
Among those felicitated was an 84-year-old Bharatanatyam dancer
Akemi Sakurai.
Meanwhile, Industries Minister TRB Raaja, who was accompanying
the Chief Minister, in a tweet said "A big lineup of meetings of
prospective investors has been lined up during the last leg of the
trip to Japan in Tokyo."
"I must say the eagerness of the diligent japanese community
to #InvestInTN is hugely heartening & is the result of policy
continuity and the basic culture of Governance in #TamilNadu
which has now been brought back to its deserving heights by
our Leader @CMOTamilnadu@mkstalin & his #DravidianModel
regime", he said.
The Tamil Nadu delegation led by Mr Stalin, after having
fruitful meetings at Osaka, landed in Tokyo today morning
and the Chief Minister travelled in the high speed bullet
train along with the officials.
Mr Raaja said "After another successful leg of the trip in
Osaka we arrived in Tokyo in the #Shinkansen or #BulletTrain."
"Our Leader is the epitome of balancing the work life interface
whilst taking care of his physical health too!The results of his
regular fitness regime shows in his suave looks!#CMStalinInJapan".
Mr Raaja added.
