Telangana CM announces 10pc reservations to tribals

Hyderabad, Sep 17 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has announced 10 percent reservations to the tribal people in the state.
Speaking at the Telangana Adivasi-Banjarala Atmiya Sabha, organised by the Department of Tribal Welfare at NTR Stadium here on Saturday, the Chief Minister said the Government Order (GO) in this regard will be released within a week.
He said that the state government has asked the Centre to increase the reservations to tribal areas from 6 per cent to 10 per cent once after passing the resolution in the Assembly. Even after seven years, the Centre has not responded positively in this regard. So that the state government has taken a decision to implement 10 per cent reservations to tribes in the state.
